About Yoga
At blue moon Yoga Center we believe Yoga is the science of self-
empowerment, of self-transformation.
Yoga is different that any other type of exercise. Yoga is non-competitive.
Yoga is about constantly being aware of the body, of how we feel, and of
what we really need. Yoga develops and creates clarity in the way we
perceive ourselves not only physically but psychologically and spiritually.
Yoga means "to unite, to join together, to balance". To practice yoga then
is to bring balance and integration to all that we are, body, mind and soul.
According to yoga philosophy, a strong, healthy body leads to a balanced,
calm mind and spirit. A regular practice of yoga will reduce imbalances and
gradually will increase our strength and flexibility as well as it will help us
achieve a calm focused mind and inner peace.
About Power Yoga.
At blue moon Yoga Center we focus on Power Yoga but do not exclude other
styles. Power Yoga is based on the Ashtanga and Viniyoga traditions, Power
Yoga is a vigorous type of yoga that combines poses, movements and deep
breaths to achieve the highest level of health, energy and vitality. The
intensity of the training is determined by our own physical abilities. Close
attention to the body guides our practice as we aim to develop strength and
flexibility. The level of challenge is personal, it has to be sensitive and non-
competitive as we listen to and honor the body. As we responsibly learn to
work with ourselves, not forcing but being aware of our limitations, we
achieve physical strength,flexibility, stamina, endurance, healing,
awareness, relaxation, and mental and emotional strength.
